Your time and talents are needed.
Volunteers are vital to the health of our community. Our Neighbors Farm & Pantry works because of the dedication and talents of its volunteers.
Some food bank volunteers pick up boxes of food at stores. Others spend hours sorting and stocking the coolers and shelves. On distribution days, volunteers assist customers, point out food choices, keep records, and help people to their cars. The efficient organization of food bank operations depends upon volunteers.
Vegetables grow year round in Safford, so there are always many projects and much work to do in the garden, hoop houses, and greenhouse, from seed sowing to harvest. Some gardeners keep on top of the weeds that want to grow in the garden’s rich soil. Others devote much time to gathering crate after crate of vegetables each week. They rinse, weigh, and prepare the produce for distribution. Because of great volunteers, the garden can intensively produce a tremendous amount in a small area.
Volunteers take part in all aspects of Our Neighbors Farm & Pantry, from building maintenance to bookkeeping to teaching cooking classes.
Come join us! It’s fun to work with others for a good cause. Please call directors Max or Sherri to learn about volunteer opportunities.
